“Modern Love” Showcases Complex Realities In Simple, Heartwarming Ways

Let’s face it – love, in any form, is complicated. If you’re looking for a lighthearted way to understand your feelings and relationships, there’s a show on Amazon Prime (you’ve likely heard of) that can help. In fact, sometimes the best way to make sense of your own feelings is through seeing yourself in someone else–especially if that someone is one of your favorite movie stars, like Anne Hathway or Dev Patel. Amazon Prime’s “Modern Love,” directed by John Carney, covers a spectrum of scenarios one might find themselves in, and with each episode, a new, yet familiar setup is presented.

Whether it’s a keeping a close relationship with a doorman, reconnecting with a big love through learning how to forgive a mistake, or finding zest even in old age relationships, the show tugs at the heartstrings and reminds us that when we’re going through something tough in a relationship, there is indeed a light at the end of the tunnel.

As previously mentioned, it’s a chance to see some of our favorite familiar film faces in familiar scenarios. From Tina Fey to Anne Hathaway, and Dev Patel to Ed Sheeran, there are a variety of different energies in the show, which actually helps support the main point. Above everything, the series reminds us that your quirks aren’t points to be self-conscious about. Those quirks are specialties, and it’s possible to find someone, and if you are lucky, a few people, who love those parts about you.

If the show were to be summed up in one fitting line, it’d be the following: Love, which is a wonderful feeling, comes to everyone at sometime.

It’s a simple message, and each episode will leave your heart feeling warm and fuzzy, just as we should feel as we approach the Fall season!
