Dior Couture Show Spring/Summer 2021 brings us a little magic in this uncertain times
Haute Couture Season is here! With catwalk shows off limits, Dior’s Haute Couture show, came to life in an enchanting 15-minute film, Le Château du Tarot, directed by Matteo Garrone and shoot at a Tuscan castle. As always everyone expectations were high but Maria Grazia Chiuri – Dior’s Creative Director did not disappoint. The Dior’s new Haute Couture Collection for the Spring/Summer 2021 was magical with its celestial dreamscape and helps us in a very creative way to forecast the future in this uncertain times we are living! The looks were inspired by the medieval Visconti-Sforza tarot decks, which are the oldest known tarot cards in the world! The cards come from the 15th century and were hand-painted for the rulers of the Duchy of Milan.
The collection pays homage to the Monsieur Dior and his fascination with clairvoyants, as he was known for his strong belief in destiny and chance and his regular tarot readings before each show.
In the collection we can see draped dresses in velvet or chiffon, long hand-pleated dresses in silk lamé or embroidered coats with crystal jewel applications or flowers. If you want to enter in this fantastic fairy-tale world check out our favourite looks from Dior’s show.
