She’s also a mother of two and a fashion lover who seriously knows how to inspire women when it comes to what to wear. Today, we step inside a day in the life of our founder, Joana Branco… 6:30 am – I wake up, and because I hate to wake up with my alarm phone, my husband had programmed the shutters to open at this hour during Summer, and it feels great to wake up with the sun light. Sometimes I just wake up with my kids kissing me, which is even better. Then I try to exercise for about 15-20 minutes at home. I know it’s not much, but honestly I don’t have time for more. On the weekends, I usually do a morning run for 40 minutes. It’s very important for me to be active in the morning, because it helps me to wake up and feel better with myself. After my workout, I take a quick shower and get dressed. I usually don’t plan my outfits in advance, I just create them on the fly, depending on my mood. My state of mind has actually a big impact in my outfits choice. Then, I make breakfast for me and my two boys, and we have it together, and every time the weather allows – we have breakfast in the garden. I always drink a big cup of green tea, take my vitamins, have a yogurt with fresh fruit, usually berries and granola and a toast. With this breakfast I don’t feel the need to eat anything else until the lunch time. Once kids are ready to go to school, I leave home and go to the office. My husband is the one who drops the kids off at school every morning. On my way to the office, I have a few minutes for myself where I try to mentally start planning my day. Somehow this calms me down. 8:45 am – I arrive at the office and I start to check my emails. Then, I set priorities and start planing the team work. On our daily basis we work with the platform called Trello, which is a huge help when it comes to managing everything. Most of the days we have a team meeting to discuss new ideas and to brainstorm a new partnership or new feature for the app. A lot of days I’m running around between Skype calls which make these days quite intense. 13:30pm – lunch time usually at home, I’m lucky enough to have the office close to my home and it’s much easier for me to eat healthy at home. Usually a day per week my team and I have lunch together, and I love these days, because I love my team. 16:30pm – I pick up the kids from school, and when we arrive home, a lot of times I have to continue working. I try to have some time with my boys, when I’m totally disconnected from my phone, but it’s not always easy. When you run your own business and love what you do, you never really fully stop working. It’s a huge part of my life and I’m lucky to love it, so I’m always looking for inspiration and coming up with new ideas. But on the weekends and nights with the family, I really do try to put everything away and just be present in the moment. 7:00pm – We usually have dinner between 7 and 7:30pm, I always have dinner with my kids and if we are lucky my husband arrive on time to joins us. 8:00pm – The kids go to bed between 8 and 8:30, depends on the time of the dinner, and after that I usually have to work a little bit more, however I always try to watch something interesting on Netflix with my husband. Other times I’m so exhausted that I’ll just go right to sleep. 11:30pm – I try to go to bed early, but usually I can’t manage so my beauty sleep usually starts between 11 and 11:30 pm.
