Burberry’s new campaign is a whole lot more than an advert

We can´t stop watching over and over againThe tale of Thomas Burberry”!

This amazing video Directed by Asif Kapadia, who won an Oscar for his documentary Amy last year and Matt Charman, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Bridge of Spies, who wrote the script, has the scope and scale of a blockbuster movie trailer, but is just a campaign  (or The Campaign) to celebrate the brand’s 160th anniversary. Don´t expect more then three incredible minutes,  after all this is just Burberry´s campaign, but we can guarantee you that after this amazing trailer you will want to see the movie 😉

This cinematic take on the life of Thomas Burberry, the company’s founder, features an all-star cast including Star Wars actor Domhnall Gleeson as Thomas Burberry, Sienna Miller, who plays his fictional first love, Dominic West as the explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton, who wore Burberry gabardine for three Antarctic expeditions, and Lily James who plays the pilot Kirby Green.

Taking key moments from Burberry’s history, the advert re-imagines events which have shaped the company’s values and key moments. These include the invention of gabardin, the waterproof fabric which is still used in all of Burberry’s trench coats and sponsoring the record-breaking flight from London to Cape Town by real life pilot Betty Kirby Green.

After watching the trailer you will definitely want to buy one of those beautifully made trench coat 😉
