A must-see documentary about the super talent and creative teenage girl Billie Eilish

The new documentary “Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry” had its premiere on Apple TV+. Directed by R. J. Cutler, the film is taking us inside Billie’s music and her teenage life.

The documentary was filmed over the course of 3 years, offering a real-life coming-of-age story, which involved personal events from the star’s life such as birthday parties, family arguments and the start of the adult life.

The first part of the movie takes place in Billie’s family house in Los Angeles, where we can see a part of a growing Eilish’s career. We witness her first emotional meeting with Justin Bieber, who used to be her early years obsession, or Billie’s preparation for her driver’s permit test. The film also shows pop star’s respect and feelings towards her fans,  how close and familiar she feels with them.

The documentary takes an open approach when it comes to Billie’s personal life, however its best moments are the ones which focus on music. It’s really captivating to see the process of creating the mega-hits, such as “Bad Guy”, where Billie and her brother Finneas compose the music in his childhood bedroom.

Over the course of almost two and a half hour, the film offers a fascinating view into the life of the teenage singer. Filmed from late 2018 through Billie’s successful Grammys night  in 2020 (11 awards!), we can see the extremely talented and self-conscious young woman, managing her music career, fame and personal life with lots of awareness. The World’s a Little Blurry is definitely worth watching, as it will introduce you to the “backstage” life of the mind of a genius.
