5 tips to improve your wellbeing

Improving your health and wellbeing is always a good idea. No matter how healthy and fit you are, there is always a space for improvement and an extra education. Especially now, after almost a year into global pandemic and staying at home most of the year, some of us really improved their health, whereas the other ones, unconsciously adapted probably not the most beneficial habits (drinking, eating too much sweets, etc). Only you know which group you belong to, however without judging anyone, we want to share a few effective and tested ways that can help you improve your health/diet and wellbeing.

1.Start each day with a cup of hot water and lemon

Drinking a warm or hot water with lemon as the first thing every morning can benefit your heart in many ways. It will not only help your digestive system help moving, but also it is a great source of Vitamin C. This little habit supports the weight loss, improves the quality of your skin and also helps to prevent the kidney stones.

2. Implement the circadian fasting

You may have heard about the intermittent fasting, but what about the reverse fasting? Reverse fasting uses the power of our circadian rhythms and the main idea involves ending your meals early in the day, for example having your dinner at 6pm or 7pm. The idea of fasting to restrict your food intake to 8 or 10 hours a day. It’s proven that fasting supports the weight loss, improve your insulin levels and brain function.

3. Embrace the outdoors

If you are person who’s always busy with your work matters and most of the day you spend staying in the front of your  computer, you should definitely consider some form of exercising. We are not talking about some kind of intense, 2-hour workouts. A simple 20-30 min walk is more than enough. The important tings is to be consistent and make it a daily habit. Moving and exercise will not only keep your body fit, but will also positively influence your mind.

4.  Have a regular sleeping pattern 

It may seem like a very basic advice, however sleep is crucial when it comes to your health and wellbeing. Our body needs proper sleep and rest to function properly and renew the energy. Sufficient sleep helps to regulate the hormones , which are relate to our mood and emotions. Therefore, make sure you sleep 7 or 8 hours every night and try to go to bed at regular times and you will see the amazing difference in your wellbeing. Also, not having a phone and any other electric devices during night in your bedroom will help you to reduce stress and improve the quality of your sleep.

5. Implement hara hachi bu

The rule of “hara hachi bu” comes from Japan and more accurately from Okinawa and it’s a reminder to stop eating when you’re 80% full. This cultural practice promotes a mindful eating and it is also a part of the reason why Okinawans are famous for having the longest life expectancy in the world. The aware daily intake of an Okinawan is about 1.900 calories and it’s much less than the average number of calories consumed by Americans or European citizens. So from now on, try to eat until you’re 80% full and what can help you with this is to eat slowly, as the brain is usually 10-20 minutes behind our stomach.
