What to wear to New Year’s Eve

The pressure to find the perfect outfit for New Years is on. Party goers may be starting to panic if they haven’t found a sparkling sensation fit for the occasion. And we all know that this is the party where everyone wants to want to impress and stand out in the best way possible. So here are eight rules of dressing cool for New Year’s Eve, some of these tricks you may already know (and follow), while others may be new and worth testing out this year.

Be Unique – On holidays like this when everyone tends to follow the same style formula, it’s important to try to be unique. The idea of women wearing a kimono, or a dress full of colors it’s not only a nice change from all the body-con sequined dresses (although we love sequins for this time of year) but also more comfortable.

LBD – Reserve the LBD for other parties or give a jump start by wearing it with a new pair of over-the-knee boots and some statement pieces of jewelry, because the biggest night of the year calls for a very imaginative approach.

Platforms or Block Heels – While some women seem to know the secret to wearing high heels without any pain, which is certainly not our case and because dancing is definitely on the cards, choosing shoes with a platform or block heel gives a nod to retro style and keeps comfort in mind.

Standout Piece – Sometimes we see women wearing everything at the same time, sparkly dress, lots of jewelry, shiny makeup, and it feels too overdone. A nice style balance is picking one standout part of your outfit—like a great necklace—and wearing it with a tuxedo blazer and skinny jeans, for example.

Items With Movement – Pieces with movement, like fringe or feathers look amazing on a dance floor, and is a very nice option for this season.

Try Sequins Unexpectedly – If you want to wear sequins, and by all means you should, do so unexpectedly. A cool pair of trousers is a nice and different alternative.

Final touch – A little fringed bag or gilded clutch complete the festive look and will give the perfect final touch to your look.

Last Rule – HAVE FUN, lots of fun and whatever the look you choose wear it with confidence. Happy new year everyone!
