Chanel Haute Couture Show for Spring/Summer 2021 took place yesterday in the Grand Palais in Paris. The inspiration for the new spring collection was a wedding party. Chanel’s Creative Director – Virginie Viard wanted to recreate the feeling of a intimate countryside celebration with a small number of guests. She argumented her choice with  “People are craving for warmth, tenderness and cheer. A wedding is a bit like a family celebration.”

In this collection Viard focused on colourful outfits with bright colours and unexpected volumes, giving a special attention to the long skirts. This season, the Chanel woman stands for both female and male guests, where we can see a bit of a gender-bending which would surely have pleased Coco Chanel herself.
